Here I am – About Boris Garic

Portrait of Boris Garic

I make complex systems simple through clear UX.

Ich mache komplexe Systeme durch klare UX einfach.

I'm Boris Garic, a UX designer based in Zurich, Switzerland. Over fifteen years I've worked on products where the complexity sits under the surface: a banking app, brand platforms for a radio station, a publisher's archive.

My UX career, along with HTML and CSS, is largely self-taught. That has left me with a habit of learning in public, asking blunt questions, and caring more about whether something works than about who thought of it.

I like the part of the job where a messy stakeholder debate turns into one clear screen that a person can use without being taught.

AI in my process

I bring AI in where it genuinely supports my design process, while the decisions stay led by UX principles and user needs, not by the model.

Before workshops, or when I step into an unfamiliar field, I use AI to get a quick overview of an industry, a business model or the vocabulary. It means I arrive prepared rather than catching up.

Because so much of my craft is self-taught, AI has also become a learning partner. When I pick up a new method, technology or framework, it helps me understand a complex topic faster and from more than one angle.

I'm early in this part of my journey, but I'm convinced AI will reshape how we work. So I add it to my workflow step by step, and I'd happily learn from a team that already builds it into the design process.
